OTILIA – LOF

The TugAdvise team of Tatham Macinnes were instructed by the P&I Club of the 1989 built Panamanian owned oil products tanker OTILIA after she suffered an engine room fire whilst in ballast off the coast of Panama.  The vessel anchored off Cristobal, the crew were evacuated and the owners of the 9000 dwt tanker on 19 July 2013 agreed LOF with Svitzer and SCOPIC was invoked.  A fire fighting team was mobilised by Svitzer along with subcontracted tugs from local operators Meyer who were able to provide their 2012 built tug MEYERS EVO and Scafi of Naples whose 2011 built tug CAPO NOLI was operating in the area.  The fire was successfully extinguished and casualty safely redelivered to her owners some 10 days later.
